Communication and language
At Slip End Pre-School we offer many opportunities for the children to develop their language skills through play based activities. These include but are not limited to; story time, role play, discussing events and topics as a group or asking children open questions.
Physical development
We offer daily indoor and outdoor play with age appropriate equipment for the children to use. We have a dance teacher visit once a week which our children love and Sports Day is a key event at our setting!
Personal, social, and emotional development
We are a mixed setting for children aged 2-5 years, we feel this gives the children a better opportunity to mix with all ages throughout the day. Our children earn marbles each day to be added to our ‘marble jar’ for showing kindness or to praise their own personal achievements.
Expressive arts and design
We have daily messy play but also have ‘Artventurers’ visit once a month to turn our setting into a place of exploration. Funnybones Music visit once a week and we have daily craft and songs in the setting.

My son Jayden started later in year and settled in very quickly. Hayley and her team are very friendly so my son loved it. They also organise a lot of activities for the children which keeps the learning fun too. Would highly recommend this Pre-School!
Our little boy had never left my side when he joined Slipend Nursery. The staff were excellent in integrating him as they are very experienced. They assess each child’s needs and keep you informed. It’s very much a family feel. Never too much trouble if you need to speak with them or need advice. The interactive app makes it very easy to keep informed and you can receive photos of your child. Every month there is a new theme and lots of new activities ands events to challenge and interest the children. There is a private Facebook group so all of the parents can feel involved and know what’s going on in the nursery. The attached car park and kids play park make it a very safe and relaxed pick up/ drop off. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone. My son really misses nursery when it’s closed and to me that’s a fantastic recommendation in itself.
Both of my children have attended Slip End Pre School with my daughter still attending. She loves pre school and all the team there are fantastic. There are always events and activities taking place to keep the children engaged and the communication from management to parents is fantastic. My daughter is going to be very sad to leave and go to ‘big school’ this summer!
Slip End Pre-School provides a wonderful environment for little ones. The staff are brilliant, nurturing and playful.
No day is the same and the team are always thinking of and introducing new ways to keep the children entertained and engaged, with learning through play at the heart. They do an amazing job caring for the children, but also supporting parents through the different early years stages.
Both of my children have attended the preschool and it was the perfect introduction to being in a preschool setting, learning routine and being cared for away from home.
I can’t recommend Slip End Pre-School enough.
My daughter has been attending slip-end Village Pre school for nearly three years. From her first day I have seen her confidence and social skills grown, as well as her meet physical mile stones with the support of the staff.
All the staff are absolutely incredible their caring and nurturing attitude toward the children and their learning is nothing short of outstanding. The communication between each staff member and the parents is effective and reassuring.
The extra curriculum activities provided by the preschool are amazing. My little girl absolutely loves attending and will miss all the staff and children when she moves on to ‘big school.’
I cannot speak more highly of Slip-End Village Preschool and will recommend to anyone looking for a ‘home from home’ preschool setting!
Our daughter has been attending slip end pre school since 2022 and she and we love it! We moved further away from the pre school but still chose to travel to take her there. All the staff are so friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. She has made so many friends at pre school and they pull out some amazing activities for the children like Artventurers every month, soft play bus coming to the carpark, the farm visiting the garden and so many more! Would highly recommend!
Slip End Preschool is amazing!
My son started just as a big change happened in his life (his baby brother was born) and the ladies at the preschool were so welcoming and lovely, and showed us all so much kindness.
He has been happy to go in every day and tells us all about his day on the way home. The different themed activities are great, all the extra learning experiences they provide like a farmyard visit, little city, soft play bus, bouncy castles...and probably more that I've forgotten...are amazing! They invite parents and family members in for special events like mother's day, father's day, sports day, Christmas jingle and mingle. The ladies who work there take the time to get to know the children and parents/carers and always have a smile on their faces. The most important thing for me when finding childcare was to find somewhere that my child felt safe, happy, had fun and learnt through play. Slip End Preschool ticks all these boxes and more!
We’ve tried numerous nurseries for my daughter & this is the only one she has managed to settle into so quickly & comfortably. Not to mention the great relationship she has with her key worker! All the staff just go above & beyond for the children. Thank you to you all, highly recommended!
